Really nice photos. I especially like the 2 images of the Black-Headed Gull. That second photo of the Black-Headed Gull looking directly at you is such a great shot.
Re: your Northern Shoveler photo, I had something similar happen a few weeks ago with a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. The kinglet landed on a branch about 3 metres from me. I took a few images and every single one was either blurred out or the kinglet had turned away from me so I was not able to capture their ruby-crown on their head. Haha, perhaps I'll have better luck next time.
You mean the Gull? For sure, their heads are definitely brown. As for the Whiskered Tern - yeah, I don't often get to see them, they look pretty similar to the Common Tern. Funny that you mentioned it, the Black-Headed Tern (Chlidonias niger) is closely related to the Whiskered Tern!
‘Friendship and birdsong cure all sorrows, as it would seem.’ 🫶🏼
I’m seeing birds I’ve never seen before! And the one legged one?! 🥺 good he has wings 😅
yeah, for sure! and he can land on the water so walking isn't much of an issue i guess.

Amazing pictures!
thank you!
The misfires are so relatable. They’re always more fun in good company.
Whiskered Tern—first I’m hearing of this bird’s existence.
The Black-headed Tern is an exquisite bird, but we gotta change that name. Not accurate 😂

Yes lol. I meant the gull. When I saw my first one last month I thought whoever named it must not have seen it very nearby
